Fact Vs Truth
Many popular customs associated with
Christmas and Resurrection day (Easter) developed independently of the commemoration of the birth and death of Jesus Christ with certain elements having origins in pre-Christian festivals that were celebrated by pagan populations who were later converted to Christianity. Similarly other significant dates in our calendar have been claimed and given meanings by various religious and secular groups throughout the year; however Genesis chapter 1 and 2 make it clear that God created each day of the week and so if a group of people decide to attach a meaning to a day beyond that given by God, that may be a fact but the truth remains unaffected.
This means that God Himself created each of the seven days in the week and each of the 52 weeks of every year. There is not a single day that does not belong to God.
Psalm 118:24 NKJV
This is the day the Lord has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it.
Here then is not a fact but the truth:
Anyone, or any group, sect or religion outside the family of God who steals a day to make it their own, owes God and Christians an apology, as it was never theirs in the first instance.
